Catahoula Leopard Dog

When people ask what kind of dog we have, they look at us kind of cross eyed when we answer because most people around Ohio have never heard of a Catahoula Leopard Dog. She has some Australian Cattle Dog (Blue Healer) in her as well. It's funny, people who know Australian Cattle Dogs see that in her, but when I look at the pictures of the Catahoula Leopard Dogs and the Australian Cattle Dogs, she clearly is a Catahoula! It was quite a surprise when I posted a picture of Lacey at The Shaker Box and my friend Carrie asked what kind of dog she was because she has the exact same markings as her dog! We have the same kind of dog! I hope that we have many years ahead of us with Lacey, but when it's time for another dog, I want another Catahoula! I am a pretty simple scrapper. I like an artsy, grungy, non-patterned paper that can pretty much stand on it's own. Add a title, a photo and some journaling and you're good to go!

Where did October go?

After Marly's birthday we had our 14th wedding anniversary, a trip to Wilmington, Delaware with my grandparents to meet my cousin's new baby, Jay's birthday, and my parents' 40th wedding anniversary!

We did manage to make it to the apple orchard and the pumpkin patch!

I didn't think this layout was that great, but I guess they liked it over at Making Memories For You because they published it in their e-zine this month!

I think I strained my back at Pilates on Friday. I've been to the chiropractor already this morning and am just trying to take it easy this afternoon so maybe I'll get some more pictures scrapped!

Narnia's Prince Caspian & King Peter

I have had this layout nearly complete since sometime in May, when I released my Prince Caspian inspired freebie (http://artyouspecial.blogspot.com/2008/05/happy-memorial-day.html), just waiting for a picture of my "royal" boys at Halloween! With this photo, I duplicated it, turned the top layer sepia, used the overlay blending mode and then reduced the opacity. The font is Echelon. The freebie is still available if you want to snag it!
